English forestry with it’s relatively small and dispersed forest resource with high species diversity lends itself to landscape level approaches to forest and supply-chain management:
- Contacting, co-ordinating and encouraging forest & woodland owners to work together to achieve efficiencies in silvicultural operations or marketing of timber.
- Landscape or catchment level volume and quality assessments.
- Integration and development of supply-chains from woodland to end-user across defined geographical areas.
- Policy and strategy development for landscape level industry groups, public sector and NGOs.
